Thai Kratom and USA

Although the Kratom tree is native to Thailand and has been used for centuries by Thais for its powerful medicinal benefits, the government of Thailand officially made Kratom illegal for consumption in 1943, with the passage of the Kratom Act. However, criminalizing the use of Kratom had nothing to do with its purported “psychoactive” affects on the brain but more to do with the levying of taxes at that time on opium shop owners and users involved in the lucrative opium trade during the 30s and 40s.

Because opium traders experienced a sudden and dramatic increase in the amount of taxes they paid on opium, many of them began using Kratom to manage symptoms of opium withdrawal, since they could no longer afford to deal (or partake) in opium. This reduction in revenues, coupled with the detrimental impact of the Greater East Asia War of 1942, prompted the Thailand government to establish the Kratom Act in 1943, which made it illegal to plant Kratom trees or use Kratom for recreational or medicinal purposes. In other words, Kratom remains illegal in Thailand simply because of economics, not because Kratom is thought to be an addictive or harmful substance by the government.

Kratom’s Status in Thailand Today

The Kratom Act of 1943 still remains in effect but with high rates of methamphetamine addiction currently existing in Thailand, the government is actively pursuing the legalization of Kratom because of the plant’s ability to help addicts overcome their dependence on cocaine, heroin or methamphetamines. Over the last decade, Thai scientists have developed a great interest in Kratom’s many alkaloid compounds that affect opioid receptors in the brain similar to the way methadone helps addicts resist cravings for dangerous drugs.

According to an interview recently published in Scientific American with University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Director of Medical Toxicology Dr. Edward Boyer: “Mitragynine found in Kratom leaves binds to the same receptors as morphine, which explains why it treats pain…Kratom pharmacology might [reduce cravings for opioids] while at the same time providing pain relief”. Kratom Remains Legal in the U.S.

The popularity of Kratom in the U.S. has prompted the United States Drug Enforcement Agency to add Kratom to a list of “drugs and chemicals of concern”, which essentially means researchers for the DEA have yet to discover any detrimental effects associated with Kratom use. In fact, thousands of Kratom users in the U.S. as well as other countries that allow the sale of Kratom consistently expound on the physical and mental benefits of Kratom and its ability to alleviate chronic health problems that fail to respond to medications produced by big-name pharmaceutical companies.

Purchasing Kratom Capsules is Easy and Legal

Kratom in capsule form is the most convenient way to experience the benefits of Kratom. Available in exact dosages for optimal results, Kratom capsules are small, lightweight and have a long shelf life so users of Kratom do not have to worry about their capsules expiring like prescription medications. In addition, when you buy Kratom capsules wholesale, you are not overpaying for Kratom that is advertised on sites not offering discount Kratom. However, be assured that wholesale Kratom capsules contain the highest grade Kratom available from southeastern Asia that can improve energy levels, ease all types of pain and provide anxiety and stress relief when needed.
